The Basics of Music Law Featuring Associate Professor Dr. Mark Perry
Join the Oklahoma Supreme Court and OBA CLE for this unique in person educational program! Attendees will learn about music publishing and production including the two copyrights in every song, factors and defenses in copyright infringement cases and more. Plus we will count down the 10 most famous music copyright cases, with accompanying live music samples performed by Oklahoma State University Doctoral Student Brysen Norman on a Steinway Piano.
Dr. Mark Perry, Associate Professor, OSU Greenwood School of Music, will open and close the program with remarks regarding the music industry in Oklahoma.

SPEAKERS
Jim Jesse consults and practices in areas regarding copyright, licensing and entertainment and music law. He has been an attorney since 1992, and has been a music law presenter since 2013 as Rock n Roll Law. He is also of counsel at the Intellectual Property law firm of Hovey Williams.
Mark E. Perry serves as the Director of the music industry program and Associate Professor of ethnomusicology and historical musicology at Oklahoma State University. He holds a Ph.D. in music from the University of Kansas, and his dissertation explores Catalan nationalism in relation to the early works of Roberto Gerhard.
