About the Movie:
The Blind Side is a 2009 American biographical sports drama film written and directed by John Lee Hancock. Based on the 2006 book of the same name by Michael Lewis, the film tells the story of Michael Oher, a football offensive lineman who overcame an impoverished upbringing to play in the National Football League with the help of Leigh Anne and Sean Tuohy. It stars Sandra Bullock as Leigh Anne, Tim McGraw as Sean, and Quinton Aaron as Oher.

Cathy Christensen is a practicing attorney in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She is a graduate of Oklahoma City University School of Law and practices family law and general litigation. She is the former Vice President (1994) and President (2012) of the Oklahoma Bar Association and served 4 years on its Board of Governors. She serves on the Executive Board of Oklahoma City University School of Law, is a Trustee of the Oklahoma Bar Foundation, and a Fellow of the American Bar Foundation.
Andy Coats
Dean Emeritus and Professor of Law, OU College of Law; Former Mayor, Oklahoma City
Andy Coats graduated from the University of Oklahoma with his B.A. in 1957 and served in the U.S. Navy, where he served as naval adviser to the Chinese Nationalist government in Taiwan, until 1960 when he returned to the University of Oklahoma College of Law. He was editor of the Oklahoma Law Review and graduated in 1963. He served as District Attorney of Oklahoma County, Mayor of Oklahoma City (1983-1987) and was president of both the Oklahoma Bar Association and the American College of Trial Lawyers. He is a trustee of the U.S. Supreme Court Historical Society and was the charter president of the Oklahoma Chapter of the American Board of Trial Advocates. Coats was appointed as the eleventh Dean of the OU College of Law and sixth Director of the Law Center in 1996. OU Regents named the new law school building “Andrew M. Coats Hall” in his honor.
Barry Switzer
Former University of Oklahoma and Dallas Cowboys Head Football Coach
A native of Arkansas, Barry Switzer graduated from the University of Arkansas in 1960 and served in the U.S. Army before returning to the university as scout team coach and then offensive coach. He joined the coaching staff of the University of Oklahoma in 1966, was named offensive coordinator in 1967, then assistant head coach in 1970, and finally head coach in 1973. Switzer is among the “winningest” coaches in all of college football and led the Sooners to three national championship wins, 12 Big Eight Conference crowns and never had a losing season during his tenure as head coach. Switzer concluded his time at OU at the end of the 1988 season with a 157-29-4 record, a percentage that ranked him fourth among history’s legendary football coaches. He then became head coach of the Dallas Cowboys for four seasons and won the National Football League (NFL) Championship Super Bowl in 1996. Switzer has the highest winning percentage of any Dallas Cowboys football coach and is one of only three coaches to ever win a national championship in college and in the NFL. The University of Oklahoma’s athletic complex, the Barry Switzer Center, was named in his honor. He is a member of the Oklahoma Sports Hall of Fame and organized the annual Swing for Sight Golf Tournament to raise money for the Society for the Prevention of Blindness. Switzer served as honorary head coach of Oklahoma’s Special Olympics for more than 40 years.
