DESCRIPTION

Walking the Diversity Talk: Making Greater Strides Towards the Elimination of Bias

By now, you are likely familiar with the concept of implicit bias and how it impacts both individuals and organizations in decision-making. However, knowledge of the problem is just the first step. In order to truly "walk the (diversity) talk," we must take definitive strides in the direction of diversity, equity and inclusion.

In this program, lawyers will learn how to translate their insights about implicit bias into actionable steps they can take to reduce bias in their own decision-making (and that of the organizations they lead). By examining case studies and the best practices of leading organizations in the legal industry and beyond, lawyers will learn how to:

  • Identify (and reduce) their own biases
  • Develop greater culture competency
  • Navigate and resolve microaggressions
  • Recognize structural impediments to diversity
  • Drive organizational change
