Voting Rights in Oklahoma: The Legacy of Guinn v. U.S.  While many are familiar with the role of the 15th Amendment and the 1965 Voting Rights Act in providing access to the ballot for African Americans, the importance of the U.S. Supreme Court’s 1915 decision in Guinn v.
